Submission: Cornerstone Music Festival Is So Much More Than Just Music

As most of us know by now, Cornerstone just officially announced this past week that this will be their final festival ever. I don’t know about your reaction to the news, but I was pretty bummed out, but then I thought about all the awesome things Christ has done as result of my brother and I attending Cornerstone. For those of us who have been blessed with the opportunity to attend Cornerstone in the past, you know as well as I do that Cornerstone is so much more than just a music festival. It’s a community of people coming together every summer from all different backgrounds, for a week of lifting up praises to Christ in a variety of forms. Throwing down to For Today, Lifting hands in praise while Ascend the Hill is leading worship at the Come&Live tent, you have the opportunity to worship your Creator however He’s put on your heart to. It’s also about loving on those who are there and maybe don’t know Christ personally yet. It’s all about expanding the Kingdom!

This past October I was blessed with the opportunity to baptize my younger brother Kirk and his best friend Kyle (who is also like a brother to me). So why am I showing you this video of my brothers testimony/getting baptized? Because Cornerstone Festival played a big part in Kirk and Kyle’s decisions to rededicate their lives to Christ. God used Cornerstone Festival and bands like For Today and Before There Was Rosalyn to bring Kirk and Kyle to Christ. I am so thankful God had my brother and I go to Cornerstone two years ago, I really don’t think Kirk or Kyle would be on fire for Christ like they are now if it wasn’t for Cornerstone! Cornerstone will be missed, we are so thankful for all that Cornerstone has done over the years impacting so many lives!
